What does it do?
You have a QR code. Put it on signposts, posters, whatever you like. Customers, staff, or other users scan it. The QR code opens a webpage with whatever content you want. This may be, for example, instructions in multiple languages; a web form; a map; a special offer; or just about anything.
Why not an app?
While mobile apps are all the rage, they present compatibility problems. If your intended users are from China, for example, there is a good chance they are using phones other than Android or Apple, so any app based on the Android and Apple stores will not work for them. By using platform independent web content, you can make your content available to all possible users. Also, maintaining the same functionality across mulitple app platforms adds unnecessary overheads. Platform independent web content makes the solution available to everyone, without any risk of deplatforming or loss of parity common in apps.
